Background – Ghana Integrated Health Partnership (IHP)
The USAID-funded Ghana Integrated Health Partnership supports the Government of Ghana to reduce preventable maternal, newborn, and child deaths by 2030. The activity strengthens local institutions, advances localization, and scales evidence-based, integrated RMNCHN and Malaria services across six regions and 31 districts.

Position Summary

The Local IT Officer provides comprehensive IT support for one or more projects in Ghana, ensuring reliable infrastructure, systems, and digital health solutions in compliance with organizational and donor requirements. The role supports projects across start-up, implementation, and close-out phases.

Key Responsibilities

The role includes managing IT procurement, infrastructure, networks, and office setup; administering Microsoft 365 platforms; enforcing IT security, data protection, and compliance standards; configuring and supporting staff devices; managing IT vendors; delivering digital skills training; supporting business applications and digital health systems; leading IT service management and projects; maintaining IT documentation, asset inventories, and BC/DR plans; and reporting and participating in regional and global IT meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required, with a minimum of four years’ experience in IT management and five years in IT support, preferably in international development or humanitarian settings. Candidates must have experience with IT vendor management, multi-project support, Microsoft 365 applications, digital health platforms (e.g., CommCare, DHIS2), network and systems administration, capacity building, and customer-focused IT support. Fluency in English and a local language is required.

Preferred: Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft).
