Mahama Allocates GH¢2.1bn to Mahama Care (Free Treatment for NCD Patients, Disabilities)

President John Dramani Mahama has said that the Finance Minister has given GH¢2.1 billion to the Mahama Care initiative, which is the government’s main health policy for non-communicable diseases (NCDs). He spoke at the 23rd anniversary of First Sky Construction Company in Accra and said that the money would help people with expensive illnesses like stroke, kidney disease, and some cancers, which can be very hard on people and their families. Mahama Care is a specialized health insurance program that started in 2025 when Mahama became president. It provides free treatment for people with disabilities and people with noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). The President also thanked people and groups who are helping the program and other charitable health projects in Ghana.
