Wontumi Eyes NPP Chairmanship (Says Action, Not English, Defines Leadership)
Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said he wants to run for NPP National Chairman. He says that his experience and track record are more important than his ability to speak English. Before the September 2026 national executive elections, he told party members in the Western Region that leaders should be judged on their skills, connections to the people, and ability to plan strategically, not on their ability to speak English. He also said that campaigning effectively often means talking to people in their own languages. The NPP is currently reorganizing, and from March 1 to March 31, people can register to vote.
