Tiger Eye PI Denies ‘Missing’ Parliament Exposé (Calls Anas Corruption Claim Baseless)
Tiger Eye PI has denied claims that its founder, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, made and then hid a report about alleged corruption in Parliament. The claim, which was made by anti-corruption activist Vitus Azeem, was called false and without merit. The group said in a statement that no such investigation had been done, shown to, or previewed to any Members of Parliament. They also told Azeem to provide proof, including naming any lawmakers who were supposedly involved. Tiger Eye PI said it acted because the claim was so serious and warned that such unproven claims could make it look like Anas was hiding proof of corruption. The group also talked about the dangers of investigative journalism, using the death of team member Ahmed Suale as an example, and called the comments reckless without proof. Tiger Eye PI said that it is still dedicated to exposing corruption, but that decisions about investigations are based only on the organization’s judgment and the situation.
