Duffuor Calls for Moral Renewal—2026 a Defining Year for Ghana’s Values and Unity!
Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, who used to be the Minister of Finance, sent out a New Year 2026 message asking Ghanaians to think deeply about where the country is going. He said that this is a very important time that requires truth, courage, and moral renewal. He was worried about what he called the decline of discipline, moral restraint, and self-centeredness in public life. He said that indiscipline on the roads, neglect of the environment, and abuse of public trust were all threats to Ghana’s core values. Dr. Duffuor told both citizens and leaders to be honest, have integrity, and serve the public. He stressed that skills alone are not enough and that young people need to learn strong moral values along with their education. He said that we should invest more in religious and moral values to raise a generation that values life, keeps its word, and puts the public good first. He talked about the problems Ghana is facing right now, but he also talked about the country’s long history of bouncing back and starting over. He said that real change in the country must start with character, and he called 2026 a defining year to strengthen unity and recommit to the Ghana that future generations will inherit.
