From Kukuom to the Nation: Mahama Launches Veg Revolution With 24-Hour Farming Vision!

The President of the country, John Dramani Mahama, has inaugurated the Vegetable Development Project as part of the Feed Ghana Initiative in the Ahafo Region’s town of Kukuom. The President described the project as a significant step toward bolstering the nation’s food security and expanding irrigation systems. On Thursday, November 27th, the President gave a speech to farmers, traditional authorities, and project partners at an event. In his address, he revealed that the initiative will include the construction of a modern packhouse, which will provide support for grading, sorting, packaging, and cold chain management for all of the vegetables that are grown as part of the project. In the process of making the switch to timeframes, President Mahama said that the project is expected to be finished within a twelve-month period. In addition, he said that the government has intentions to implement the concept in other locations around the nation, especially in the northern areas, where farmers are still dealing with the problem of insufficient water supply during the dry season. “Every aspect of the project has been meticulously planned so that it may be finished within a timeframe of twelve months. According to his statement, this Vegetable Development Project will be duplicated in several other locations around the nation, particularly in the northern region, where the availability of water is a significant obstacle for a large portion of the year. President Mahama made a connection between the initiative and the creation of new jobs, stating that if the vegetable sector were to be strengthened, there would be the potential for more employment opportunities to be created. He emphasized that the administration is creating the groundwork for an agricultural economy that operates twenty-four hours a day, which will assist in absorbing the increasing workforce and contribute to the advancement of sustainable development.
