Ken Agyapong: No More Mr. Nice Guy (NPP Primary Loss Sparks Change in Politics)
Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a businessman and unsuccessful candidate for the NPP presidency, says that the party’s presidential primary, which Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia won, has changed how he thinks about politics. He says he will no longer let people take him for granted or disrespect him. After the contest, he said he would not run as an independent candidate and reaffirmed his loyalty to the NPP. He also said that losing an election is part of politics. He did, however, say that he was very disappointed in some party members he had previously supported. He said that the experience taught him hard lessons and made him lose faith in politicians. He said he was hurt by mean things people said about him after he helped them get ahead in the party. He said his anger wasn’t about losing, but about personal attacks that he couldn’t just ignore or pretend didn’t matter.
