Oil windfall incoming: Ghana revises petroleum revenue target up by 50% to $1.5 billion for 2026, Forson tells Bloomberg.

The government is targeting total petroleum revenue of approximately US$1.5 billion by the end of 2026, up from the initial projection of US$985 million contained in the 2026 Budget. Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson disclosed this in an interview with Bloomberg in London. According to him, the upward revision is driven by the increase in crude oil prices on the international market in recent months, largely influenced by developments in the Middle East. Dr. Forson indicated that full details of the revised revenue outlook will be presented in the Mid-Year Budget Review scheduled for July 2026.
