Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr Future Uncertain (Omitted from Squad Amid Club Tensions)

Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Al-Nassr is in doubt after he wasn’t included in the squad for Monday’s game against Al-Riyadh. This has led to rumors that he is unhappy with the club’s management. Portuguese news outlet A Bola says that Ronaldo, who is 41 years old, refused to play because he was upset by recent decisions made by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, which runs both Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal. Karim Benzema, who used to play with Ronaldo at Real Madrid, moved to Al-Hilal, where he scored three goals on his first game. This is said to have made Ronaldo even more angry. The Saudi Pro League made it clear that clubs can run their own businesses as long as they follow the league’s financial rules. Ronaldo signed a £177 million-a-year deal with Al-Nassr in mid-2022. He has only won the Arab Club Champions Cup and signed a two-year extension in June 2025. Al-Nassr is in third place in the league, four points behind Al-Hilal, who is in first place. They have one game left to play. It is still unclear if Ronaldo will play against Al-Ittihad on Friday.
