“Sports Ministry, SWAG Partner for Stronger Sports (Focus on Media, Accountability, Reform)

Kofi Iddie Adams, the Minister of Sports and Recreation, has promised that his ministry will work with the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) to create a sports ecosystem that is both productive and long-lasting. Adams talked about the media’s important role in sports development at a meeting with SWAG’s leaders. He talked about plans to train journalists and make sure that sports resources are managed more responsibly. SWAG was happy about the collaboration, saying it would make policy advocacy and public awareness stronger. The initiative comes at a time when there are new calls for reforms after Ghana’s poor performances in competitions like the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Stakeholders see the partnership as a way to bring together the government, the media, and athletes through joint programs like training workshops and support for investigative journalism.
