Courier Industry Breathes! Gov’t Reduces Fees, Halts Enforcement Till Year-End

In an effort to ease financial hardship and promote adherence to industry standards, the government has announced intentions to cut the GH¢1,070 registration cost for courier firms. The Public Accounts Committee was notified by Hon. Sam George, Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, that a new fees bill would be introduced to Parliament that will include the updated fees. With a temporary 50% cost decrease in place and full enforcement set for April 1, 2026, a moratorium on enforcement has been extended until the end of the year to give businesses time to get licenses.
