SML Scandal Takes a Twist: Court Goes Missing, Ofori-Atta’s Arraignment Pushed Back
Due to the High Court’s failure to convene on Monday, November 24, 2025, the much-awaited arraignment of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and seven other individuals in the Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) affair has been postponed.In an update posted on its official Facebook page, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), which had previously declared preparations to bring all eight accused individuals before the Criminal Division of the High Court today, confirmed the delay. The notification was titled “CR/0106/2026.” Ofori-Atta, Kenneth Nana Yaw, and seven others. Since the Court will not meet on November 24, 2025, as originally planned, this case has been postponed. The Republic and the Accused Persons will be informed of the revised date. Due to the extension, the court will now announce the date of the hearing for the 78 allegations against Mr. Ofori-Atta and the others, which range from conspiracy to influence the procurement process to alleged violations of the Public Procurement Act.
