No sleep till cocoa ships! Dr. Dogbey switches CMC into beast mode!
In order to evaluate the performance of the various cocoa takeover centers this season and to verify whether or not they are prepared for a new 24-hour operating model that is based on President John Mahama’s vision of services that are available at all hours, Dr. Wisdom Kofi Dogbey, the Managing Director of the Cocoa Marketing Company, paid visits to a number of these centers. He had conversations with members of the team and commended them for their commitment to ensuring that the cocoa produced in Ghana continues to be of top-notch quality. At the same time, he highlighted obstacles that needed to be addressed and areas that might be improved. The twenty-four-hour system is ready to be launched by the Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC), according to confirmation from Dr. Dogbey. The introduction of this system is expected to improve efficiency at warehouses, shipping terminals, and ports by decreasing delays, enhancing inventory management, and improving the handling and storage of cocoa. According to his statement, the modifications would also provide assistance to farmers by guaranteeing that payments are processed more quickly via Licensed Buying Companies. He expressed hope about the future of the sector and pointed out that these initiatives, along with enhanced local processing, would assist Ghana in meeting increasing demand on a worldwide scale and preserving its position as a leader in the cocoa business.
