Osei Kwame Despite Distances Himself from Daddy Lumba Family Feud—Calls for Unity, Not Sides
Osei Kwame Despite, a Ghanaian business mogul and media entrepreneur, has nothing to do with the legal and family problems that the widows of the late highlife star Charles Kwadwo Fosu, also known as Daddy Lumba, are having.
The billionaire businessman has denied claims that he is helping Odo Broni, one of the late musician’s wives, or that he is involved in the family problems that have come up since Daddy Lumba’s death.
Dr. Despite said in a viral audio recording that his relationship with Akosua Serwaa is closer than what has been said in public. He also denied claims that he favors Odo Broni.
Dr. Despite said that he gave GH₵100,000 to Daddy Lumba’s family after hearing about the musician’s death. He said it was his personal duty to help a longtime friend.
He also said that after Akosua Serwaa got back to Ghana, she called him and made plans for her, her kids, and other family members to visit him before the week-long observance. He also said that while he was there, he helped her and the kids with money for their needs.
Dr. Despite not being able to go to the one-week memorial event in person, he still gave money and helped the family in other ways, such as giving Akosua Serwaa a car.
He also said that he was at Daddy Lumba’s funeral only to honor a close friend on his last journey and not to show support for either side in the ongoing disagreement. Dr. Despite said he doesn’t care about the fight between the two women and would rather see the family come together.
