Gov’t to Launch Digital Labour Market System (One-Stop Job Platform Set to Boost Access)

The Minister for Labour, Jobs, and Employment, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, said that the government is going to launch a Labour Market Information System. This is a digital platform that will connect job seekers with job openings across the country. The system will be a central place where people can find job openings in both the public and private sectors. Dr. Pelpuo said on JoyNews, “My office takes a multi-sectoral approach to creating jobs.” There are jobs all over the place, so my job is to keep an eye on them, draw young people’s attention to them, and make sure they can get to all the available jobs. Public and private organizations should also post their job openings on the platform. The system’s goals are to make it easier for people to find jobs, let employers post job openings, and fix skills gaps by giving information about in-demand skills and training needs. Dr. Pelpuo said that the platform has been tested a lot, even though it hasn’t been officially launched yet: “We are still going to launch it this year, so it’s not very popular yet.” But a lot of people have tried it since we let them. We have been working on it all year. We are now getting ready to officially launch it after testing it.
