Adutwum: Respect Due Process for Ofori-Atta (Let the Law Take Its Course!)

Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, a former Education Minister and NPP flagbearer hopeful, has asked Ghanaians to respect due process when it comes to former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta. He has asked people to be calm and follow the law. He warned against judging people in public before the legal process is over on JoyNews’ Newsfile. He said that the legal process should be allowed to run its course. His comments come at a time when Mr. Ofori-Atta is under more legal and political scrutiny than ever. He has been investigated for decisions he made while in office for almost eight years, including alleged financial and procurement violations that could have international consequences. Mr. Ofori-Atta’s lawyers say he is innocent. He was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Washington, D.C. on January 6 and is scheduled to appear before an immigration judge on January 20. Authorities say this is part of a larger effort to hold people accountable.
