Chief Imam: Mark Eid with Modesty, Obey Law (Calls for Unity, Prayers for Peace)
Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, the National Chief Imam, has asked Muslims to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in a way that is respectful of the law, modest, and decent. He sent a message to mark the end of Ramadan, congratulating the Muslim community and stressing that the piety gained through fasting should be shown in behavior that is in line with social norms. He said that Eid was a time for both celebration and reflection, and he urged people to follow rules that promote social well-being. He also told Ghanaians to be patriotic, help others, and take responsibility for their actions to promote unity and peace between religions. He prayed for peace in the Middle East, stability in Africa, and prosperity for Ghana.
