Power isn’t the proof, restraint is. Chief Justice Baffoe-Bonnie tells leaders: true authority wears integrity, not a heavy hand.
Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie has told leaders to adopt faith-based, accountable leadership. He stressed that true authority is shown through restraint, integrity, and moral responsibility, not by using power. He spoke at the 2026 Greater Accra East Regional Annual Council Meeting of Assemblies of God Ghana and said that leadership is best tested in hard times and must be guided by strong moral and spiritual values that go beyond legal and intellectual ability. General Superintendent Stephen Yenusom Wengam also spoke at the event. He called for “audacious faith,” telling Christians, especially young people, to go after big goals without thinking that wanting something means being proud. He also talked about Ghana hosting the global Assemblies of God World Congress in October 2026. At the same time, Regional Superintendent Andrews N. Awintia stressed the importance of accountability in leadership. He talked about things like building infrastructure, giving money to poor churches, helping retired ministers, and giving away motorbikes and building boreholes. These were all things that church leaders talked about as they met to talk about progress and future growth.
