Osei Assibey Antwi trial stalls again, defence says prosecution’s delays prove weak case, as ghost names scandal drags on.
Osei Assibey Antwi, former National Service Authority (NSA) Director-General, has had his criminal trial adjourned to June 15, 2026, after prosecutors failed to complete the filing of required disclosures as directed by the court. The case, which was heard on May 13 for a case management conference, was postponed after the prosecution informed the court that additional materials it intends to rely on had not yet been disclosed, prompting the judge to grant more time to complete the process. He is standing trial on charges including stealing, money laundering and causing financial loss to the state in connection with an alleged ghost names scandal. His lead counsel, Raph Poku Adusei, criticised the delay, arguing that it reflects a lack of sufficient evidence and urged the prosecution to ensure it has credible grounds before proceeding with the case.
