Kofi Jumah walks free after EOCO slashes bail from GH¢65m to GH¢30m, monthly reporting required as probe continues.
The former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, Kofi Jumah, has been released after fulfilling revised bail conditions set by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), which reduced his bail amount from GH¢65 million to GH¢30 million. His lawyer, Nanabanyin Ackon, explained that although he was initially unable to meet the original bail requirement, he later secured the necessary sureties and complied with the revised terms, leading to his release after receiving medical attention. As part of the bail conditions, he is required to report to EOCO monthly to assist with ongoing investigations into alleged financial irregularities during his time at GIHOC Distilleries. Mr Jumah was arrested on April 29, 2026, following a raid on his Kumasi residence and was later taken to the hospital, while EOCO has yet to provide further details on the case as investigations continue.
