GN Savings set for comeback, Nduom vows stronger return after Court of Appeal restores licence, overturns BoG revocation.

Founder of Groupe Nduom, Papa Kwesi Nduom, has pledged to rebuild GN Savings and Loans Company Limited into a stronger institution following a Court of Appeal ruling that directed the Bank of Ghana to restore its operating licence. Speaking to journalists in Accra on May 21, 2026, Dr Nduom described the decision as a major step in reviving the company after nearly seven years of legal and financial setbacks linked to the banking sector clean-up exercise, assuring customers, workers and stakeholders of a stronger return while acknowledging the hardship, job losses and disruptions suffered during the period. He expressed gratitude to his family, staff and supporters and indicated that the company would later provide a detailed account of its experience. GN Savings and Loans was formerly GN Bank Limited, reclassified in January 2019 before its licence was revoked in August 2019 and a receiver appointed, a decision which was upheld by the High Court in 2024 but subsequently overturned by the Court of Appeal, which ordered the restoration of the company’s licence.
