Ghana goes digital: e-Visa launched, African travellers now pay zero fees for online applications.
President John Dramani Mahama has launched Ghana’s new e-Visa application service at a ceremony in Accra, introducing an online platform that allows travellers to apply for visas electronically. Effective immediately, all African passport holders travelling to Ghana for business or tourism will apply exclusively through the e-Visa platform and will not pay visa fees for online applications. The e-Visa system is expected to simplify and speed up the visa application process by eliminating lengthy paperwork and physical document submissions while allowing applicants to apply from anywhere with internet access. The initiative is also anticipated to boost Ghana’s tourism industry by attracting more international visitors, supporting economic growth and contributing to the development of the tourism sector.
