Bawumia: ‘Rejected Stone’ Inspires Me (Calls for Forgiveness, Unity After Elections!)
Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate for president, says that Psalm 118:22, which talks about a rejected stone becoming the cornerstone, gives Ghanaians strength and resilience. He spoke at the National Thanksgiving Service at the University of Professional Studies in Accra on Sunday, February 15. He stressed the need for perseverance, unity, and national healing in the time after the election and urged people to forgive past disagreements as a way to move forward. He said that the healing process is still going on, but that big steps have been made, and he praised patriots for their work. Dr. Bawumia also thanked church leaders, especially those from charismatic congregations, for their prayers and guidance, which he said helped make the election process peaceful. He also asked for their continued spiritual support.
