First Lady Enstooled as Nkosuohemaa (Lordina Mahama Honoured for Health Impact in Oti Region!)
The First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, has been named the Nkosuohemaa (Development Queenmother) of the Akroso Asukawkaw Traditional Area in the Oti Region. Her stool name is Nana Oseadeeyo Odamewaa II. Nana Odam Gyamfi III, the Paramount Chief, gave her the title because of her work to improve healthcare, which included the opening of an ultramodern maternity and children’s ward built by the Lordina Foundation. The building has a maternity and children’s ward, a neonatal intensive care unit, an operating room, a delivery room, life-saving equipment, solar-powered emergency lighting, and other helpful infrastructure. Mrs. Mahama said that it was part of the Foundation’s mission to make sure that no woman dies in childbirth and that every child gets the care they need. She stressed how important it is for the community, the government, and partners to work together to make healthcare more accessible and improve systems across Ghana.
