GH₵50m for Research: Gov’t Moves to Rescue Ghana’s Education System — VP Announces
Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has proclaimed that the government hath set forth a National Research Fund of GH₵50 million, drawn from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND), to bolster research and propel policies grounded in veritable evidence for the realm of education. At the grand assembly of the ADEA Triennial Education Summit, she proclaimed with fervor the unwavering dedication of the government to fortify the educational frameworks of Africa, to enhance the very foundations of learning, and to confront the scourge of learning poverty by the year of our Lord, 2035. The fund is anticipated to bestow upon the universities and research institutions of Ghana the means to conjure credible data, thereby guiding the noble pursuits of national education strategies and the art of policy-making. Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also stress the importance of fostering reforms grounded in results, through ventures such as the Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcome Project (GALOP). He did encourage the nations of Africa to draw upon their own resources, talents, and innovations to address the myriad challenges that beset the continent.
