Minority Calls for OSP Probe Into Atlas Commodities (Demands Audit, COCOBOD Transparency!)

The Minority in Parliament, led by Old Tafo MP Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has asked the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to look into Atlas Commodities Limited’s business practices because of possible problems. On February 23, he spoke to reporters in Accra and asked how the private company was able to work in warehouses registered to the Produce Buying Company without permission. This raised concerns about a possible conflict of interest and misuse of public resources linked to the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD). The Minority is also asking CHRAJ to decide if there is a constitutional conflict of interest, for a forensic audit of warehouse registrations and cocoa movement records, and for COCOBOD and national security to be completely open about everything. They say that anyone who does something wrong must be held accountable to protect farmers and make sure that the cocoa sector is open and honest.
