No Defence Minister, no problem, Felix Kwakye Ofosu says Mahama’s arrangement works: finance boss handles it, equipment keeps coming.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu has defended President John Dramani Mahama’s decision not to appoint a substantive Defence Minister, stating that the ministry continues to function effectively under the current arrangement. Speaking on PM Express, Kwakye Ofosu said Ghana’s defence architecture had experienced no lapses and noted that the sector was improving through the acquisition of additional equipment and enhanced operational readiness. He added that having the Finance Minister act in the role may be beneficial since funding and operational decisions were aligned, stressing that the appointment of ministers remained the sole prerogative of the President and would be announced when deemed necessary.
