Kwakye Ofosu: Ghana’s Economy Stronger Under Mahama—Cost of Living Down, Cedi Up
Source: TV3
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister for Government Communications, says that Ghana’s economy is in a much better place now than it was a year ago when President John Dramani Mahama took office again. He thinks that the country has made clear progress since the NDC government took over.
Mr. Kwakye Ofosu said on TV3 on Sunday, January 4, that important economic indicators are steadily getting better. This is a sign of renewed stability and better performance in areas that were most important to voters during the 2024 general elections. He says that the government has kept its promises, and you can see the changes when you compare how things are now to how they were a year ago.
He also said that the cost of living has gone down a lot, with prices going down and the cedi getting stronger. Mr. Kwakye Ofosu said that the currency is expected to rise by almost 30% every year, which he called a rare accomplishment in recent years. He also said that the stronger cedi has helped lower prices in many areas of the economy, which has made things easier for families.
