NPP’s Nana B Defends Afenyo-Markin (Says Minority Leader Is Strong, Effective)

Henry Nana Boakye, the NPP National Organizer, has turned down requests to fire Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, calling him a strong and effective leader. Boakye said on Citi Eyewitness News on February 2 that Afenyo-Markin had been a great leader in parliament and for the party. He said, “Hon Afenyo-Markin has been an outstanding leader, especially for us in these difficult times…” The party is very happy with what he is doing… People are just giving their own opinions. People were worried that Afenyo-Markin didn’t support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in Effutu during the NPP presidential primary, where Kennedy Agyapong won with 644 votes, Bawumia got 79, and Dr. Bryan Acheampong got 32. Dr. Bawumia got 110,643 votes (56.48%), Agyapong got 46,554 (23.76%), and Acheampong got 36,303 (18.53%) of the votes. This means that Bawumia will lead the party into the 2028 elections.
