Bawumia to NPP: Only Hard Work, Unity Will Win 2028 (No ‘Automatic’ Victory)
Former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has told members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to come together and work hard to win the 2028 general election. He said that the party will not get victory easily; it will take discipline, sacrifice, and hard work. After winning the party’s presidential primaries, he spoke at a national thanksgiving service in Accra. He told supporters, including former candidates, that they must earn their success in each constituency and household with humility and purpose. Dr. Bawumia also said that he would quickly reorganize the party’s structures and promote its alternative policy ideas across the country to build a stronger and more motivated campaign team. He also called on party members to put aside their personal grudges, suspicions, and factional divisions to rebuild trust and return to the party’s core values of service, competence, respect for institutions, and belief in the Ghanaian people.
