Kotoka Airport Reverts to Accra International (Gov’t Restores Original Name)
According to a statement from the Ministry of Transport on February 23, the Government of Ghana has changed the name of Kotoka International Airport back to its original name, Accra International Airport. The Ministry said that the facility was once called Accra International Airport, but it was given a new name. They think that bringing back the old name is the right thing to do. It told the public that the change would not affect operations, safety standards, or international travel. It also said that the airport code “ACC” from the International Civil Aviation Organization would not change. The name change will require changes to official documents, laws, signs, digital platforms, and aviation publications. Stakeholders have been asked to work together to make sure the transition goes smoothly.
