Afenyo-Markin: Mahama Gov’t ‘All Slogans, No Action’ (Blasts Tariffs, Dismissals, Cocoa and Galamsey Woes)
Alexander Afenyo-Markin has criticized John Dramani Mahama, saying that the government is relying on slogans without doing anything a year into his presidency. In response to the 2026 State of the Nation Address, he talked about how electricity rates were going up, how thousands of young people were being fired through letters from the Chief of Staff, and how Trybe Net was supposedly involved in hiring security personnel in a way that was not fair. He also talked about how cocoa farmers’ prices are going down, asked why Agric Minister Eric Opoku wasn’t there, and said that illegal mining (galamsey) is still hurting communities in Ghana. He said that the Minority will hold people accountable and demand full disclosure on these issues.
