Two months to complete your passport application or lose it. No refunds, no excuses, says Foreign Ministry.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that incomplete passport applications would be automatically cancelled if they are not resolved after two months of submission. This applies to applications delayed as a result of missing documents, incomplete biometric capture or pending re-capture processes. In a public notice issued on May 15, 2026, the Ministry said affected applicants would have to start the entire application process afresh and pay all applicable fees, as previous payments would not be refunded. It urged the public to complete all requirements promptly and directed enquiries to its 24-hour call centre on 0302 754 200. This is part of efforts to improve efficiency in passport service delivery nationwide.
