According to the President, the proposed legislation forms part of broader efforts to ensure the proper management, preservation, and utilisation of state assets for the benefit of the country.
He explained that Cabinet’s decision to initiate the bill is intended to establish a stronger legal framework for the protection of public assets, promote transparency, and prevent the misuse or loss of state property.
President Mahama emphasized that effective stewardship of public assets is essential to national development and expressed confidence that the proposed legislation would reinforce accountability and improve the management of state resources across public institutions.
