Parliament ratifies air service deals with six countries, Benin, Mauritius, Guyana, Luxembourg, Qatar, Saudi Arabia now connected.
Parliament has approved Bilateral Air Service Agreements (BASAs) between Ghana and six countries—Benin, Mauritius, Guyana, Luxembourg, Qatar and Saudi Arabia—to strengthen international aviation cooperation and promote economic growth.
The agreements received unanimous support from both the Majority and Minority sides of Parliament, with Members describing the move as a major boost for Ghana’s aviation sector. They said the agreements would enhance the country’s ambition of becoming a regional aviation hub while creating significant employment opportunities.
The agreements were ratified after Parliament adopted reports submitted by its Roads and Transportation Committee, in line with Article 75 of the 1992 Constitution, which requires parliamentary approval for all international treaties and agreements.
