Black Sherif does it again, second Artiste of the Year crown, five TGMA wins, and a GH¢100k investment to match.
Black Sherif has been crowned Artiste of the Year at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards, winning a total of five awards at the event held at the Accra International Conference Centre on May 9, 2026. The 24-year-old artiste, whose real name is Mohammed Ismail Sherif, also took home the Album/EP of the Year award for Iron Boy, Songwriter of the Year for Sacrifice, Best Hip Hop Song for Where Dem Boyz and Best Afropop Song for Sacrifice. It is his second Artiste of the Year win after he first received the accolade in 2023, placing him in the category of multiple time winners such as Sarkodie and Stonebwoy. His rise to success has been propelled by the Iron Boy album released in April 2025, which fuses multiple genres and features standout tracks that earned him recognition on the night as well as a GH¢100,000 investment package from Guinness Ghana to support his future projects. Born Mohammed Ismail Sherif, the 24-year-old artiste also bagged Album/EP of the Year for Iron Boy, Songwriter of the Year for Sacrifice, Best Hip Hop Song for Where Dem Boyz and Best Afropop Song for Sacrifice. This means he wins his second Artiste of the Year after winning the honour in 2023. He joins the likes of Sarkodie and Stonebwoy as multiple-time winners.
