Cybercriminals Don’t Take Holidays: Ghana’s CSA Warns Festive Fun Could Cost You Your Data!
The Acting Director‑General of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), Divine Selase Agbeti, has urged people in Ghana to be extra cautious when using the internet over the festive period, stressing that those who commit cybercrimes do not take breaks even during holidays; in his seasonal message he noted that the Christmas and New Year period typically sees heavier online engagement, which can be exploited by fraudsters, phishers, and others with malicious intent, and he encouraged the public to check the authenticity of links before tapping them, stick to trusted platforms for internet purchases, refrain from exposing too much personal data on social networks, and be careful when dealing with strangers online because some might be scammers, adding that suspected cyber incidents should be reported through official channels so authorities can respond quickly and help limit harm, and he called on everyone to act responsibly and protect their digital spaces as they celebrate.
