Dining Hall Benches Turned Into Classrooms — Labone SHS in Crisis Mode
Recent Form One students of the Labone Senior High School in Accra sit on the floor while the rest congregate on the benches in the dining hall during class. This was despite each class having been asked to pay GH¢300 towards infrastructure in addition to GH¢100 Parent Teachers Association contributions. “We do not sit on the floor. Once the seniors vacate the classrooms for the mock examination we held on Form Three students on Wednesday, we get the classrooms to sit in. Anyway, the benches in the dining hall are rather uncomfortable for us students. Yes. Only some people sit on the benches to write. Others sit on the floor. But we all sit to write. Those who sit on the benches sit on their laps because we don’t all fit on the benches. Someone explained to us that some benches in the school needed renovation. But we all sit on the benches.
