Funeral Chaos! Court Dismisses Injunction as Lumba’s Family Feud Deepens
The family of the late highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, better known by his stage as Daddy Lumba, has been urged by the Manhyia Palace to settle their disagreement by Friday, November 7, 2025. This comes when Lumba’s older sister, Ernestine Fosuh (Akosua Bempomaa), invoked the Asantehene’s sacred oath, “Ntam Kɛseɛ.” Completing the last burial ceremonies has become more difficult as a result of the oath, which was heard by the palace’s legal council. The dispute started when Akosua Serwaa Fosuh, who is claiming to be Lumba’s legal wife, requested an injunction to stop the family and Transitions Funeral Home from making funeral preparations, but the Kumasi High Court rejected it. The court has set more hearings and case management sessions until late November after ruling that, in accordance with customary law, funeral authority rests with the larger family.
