GTEC Issues Major Warning! 6 University of Ghana Centres & Dozens of Colleges Found Without Accreditation—Your Degree May Not Count! Check Before You Enroll!

The tertiary education commission of Ghana has issued a warning that the accreditation of six University of Ghana learning centers has not been granted. These centers are located in Koforidua, Cape Coast, Tamale, Ho/Tsito, Wa, and Sunyani. In addition, the commission has stated that any certificates that are awarded by these centers will not be acknowledged for purposes of employment, continued education, or advancement. The Government Tertiary Education Commission has additionally ordered eleven other tertiary institutions, such as the Institute of Business Management and Journalism, Rural Development College, the University College of Agriculture and Environmental Studies, and a number of nursing and professional colleges, to halt the process of accepting new students until such time as they meet the standards for accreditation. Furthermore, the accreditation of 26 schools, which include Abbeam Institute of Technology, Lakeside University College, ILMA Institute of Science and Technology, Ohawu College of Agriculture, and a number of Nursing and Midwifery Training Colleges, has expired as of this moment. To prevent wasting time, money, and future employment possibilities, the Georgia Technology Education Commission (GTEC) recommends that students and parents confirm the accreditation of institutions and programs directly with the Commission.
