Kantanka Security suspended after Adwoa Safo shooting, Interior Ministry cites unapproved uniforms and illegal firearms.
The Ministry for the Interior has suspended the operating licence of Kantanka Security Services Limited with immediate effect following a shooting incident at Kwabenya in Accra that left former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, hospitalised. The decision was taken over the alleged use of unapproved uniforms and the possession and use of firearms and ammunition by personnel of the private security company while providing security services on June 21, 2026. The suspension forms part of ongoing investigations into the incident, which has drawn significant public attention and prompted heightened scrutiny of the company’s operations and compliance with private security regulations.
