Man Remanded for TikTok Assassination Claim (False News Against President Mahama Lands Laundry Attendant in Custody!)

The Adenta Circuit Court has sent 30-year-old Ahmed Hassan Abdul Razzaq, who worked as a laundry attendant, back to the police for allegedly spreading false news to scare people. According to reports, Razzaq posted a video on TikTok saying that two military officers, Sergeant Amoh and Sergeant Joseph, were planning to kill President John Dramani Mahama. The court didn’t accept his plea and set his next court date for February 9, 2026. Razzaq was arrested on January 21, 2026, in Adjiringanor. In a caution statement, he said he made the video after seeing a post on social media, but he said he didn’t know the officers personally and couldn’t say where the post came from. Chief Inspector Maxwell Lanyo is in charge of the prosecution, and the Ghana Police Service is the one who filed the complaint.
