Naa Ashorkor Called to Ghana Bar After 14-Year Journey

Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku, actress and media personality, has been called to the Ghana Bar after pursuing her dream of becoming a lawyer for 14 years. She was among 1,568 newly qualified lawyers called to the Bar on Friday, October 9, 2026, marking the culmination of her legal education. She began her legal journey in 2012 when she enrolled for an LLB at the University of Ghana, graduating in 2015 before proceeding to the Ghana School of Law. She returned to the classroom in November 2024 after taking a break to have children and pursue other interests.

Her call to the Bar adds another milestone to her career in acting, broadcasting and public relations. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the Ghana Institute of Journalism in 2010 and a master’s degree in Public Relations from the same institution in 2021. Sharing a video of herself on her way to the enrolment ceremony, she expressed gratitude to God for making her dream a reality. Her achievement was also celebrated by friends and colleagues, including Image Bureau CEO George Quaye, who praised her determination to fulfil her ambition despite the demands of her established career. She was among three media practitioners called to the Bar, alongside Channel One TV and Citi FM journalist Umaru Sanda Amadu and broadcast journalist Ayisha Ibrahim.
