The Difference Between What We See and What Is True

Every person sees the world through the lens of experience, knowledge, culture and personal conviction. Two people can witness the same event and walk away with different interpretations. Each may sincerely believe they understand what happened, yet neither may have the complete picture.

This is why maturity requires us to examine what we hear and question what we see. A confident explanation can still be wrong. A widely accepted opinion can still lack evidence. Even our own experiences, valuable as they are, can give us only a partial understanding of reality.

The challenge is to separate what we know from what we assume, and evidence from interpretation. This requires patience, careful observation and the humility to admit when we do not have enough information to reach a conclusion.
