World Bank’s Paschal Donohoe Visits Ghana, Liberia (Talks Jobs, Power, Governance March 15–20)

Paschal Donohoe, the World Bank Group’s Managing Director and Chief Knowledge Officer, will go to Ghana and Liberia from March 15 to 20, 2026. This will be his first trip to West Africa since he was appointed in November 2025. He will meet with senior officials and John Mahama in Accra and Joseph Boakai in Monrovia during the visit. They will talk about development priorities like creating jobs, making it easier to get electricity through Mission 300, and better economic governance. He will also meet with the Finance Minister, the Speaker of Parliament, development partners, and business leaders in Ghana. He will give a lecture at the University of Ghana and visit projects like the Ghana Accountability and Learning Outcomes Project and the LMI rooftop solar facility in the Tema Free Zone Enclave. In Liberia, he will meet with officials from the finance and central banks and visit the Mount Coffee Hydro Power Plant, which provides electricity to Monrovia and has a 20-megawatt solar photovoltaic project.
