CAGD Presses Pause! November Teacher Allowances Delayed After Final Payroll ‘Crash.’

An announcement was made by the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) that there would be a delay in the disbursement of allowances for employees in the education sector. This delay affects two distinct kinds of allowances. Due to a technical problem that occurred during the last payroll run, it was not possible to process the allowances, which were initially supposed to be distributed in November of 2025. This is a component of the continuous endeavors undertaken by the government to guarantee that employees in the public sector get their wages and allowances on time, even in the face of the occasional technological difficulties that arise in the payroll processing system. The CAGD published a statement on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in which they said that the processing of these allowances had been temporarily halted. This was done in order to ensure that the payment of the salary for the month of November 2025 would not be disrupted for any employees of the government of Ghana. The department has guaranteed that the matter is being dealt with and that the unpaid allowances will be compensated in conjunction with the salary for the month of December 2025, which will be distributed to employees on the 18th of December, 2025. The message stated, “We are sorry for the inconvenience that this has caused, and we would like to express our gratitude for your patience.”
