GHANA ARMY ON HIGH ALERT! Jungle Commandos Train for Worst-Case Scenarios.

In light of the increasing number of threats to regional security, the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) have reiterated their commitment to defending the nation. In the course of the fifteenth Exercise Tigers’ Path, which was held in the Akim-Achiase Jungle Warfare School, Chief of Army Staff Major General Lawrence Gbetanu gave a speech in which he emphasized the military’s preparedness to deal with insurrections, terrorism, and non-traditional dangers. Tactical maneuvers that were practiced as part of the exercise included jungle fighting, first aid, river crossings, patrolling, helicopter operations, marksmanship, and physical endurance, among others. The institution, which was founded in the year 1976, has gained worldwide recognition for its jungle warfare training programs. The purpose of the program is to improve the ability of the soldiers to fight, strengthen joint operations, and maintain discipline within the ranks of the troops. This will guarantee that they are prepared to react efficiently to crises in the area, including increased migration and displacement that is related to insurgencies occurring in neighboring countries. In order to encourage the attendees, a number of high-ranking officials were in attendance, including the Chief of Defence Staff and the Deputy Defence Minister. Initiated in 1991, Exercise Tigers’ Path is a competitive training exercise that takes place every two years and includes all branches of the GAF.
