Ablakwa Launches GHS107m School Drive (Biggest Education Boost in North Tongu’s History)
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Foreign Affairs Minister and MP for North Tongu, has started what he calls the biggest education drive in the history of the constituency. He promises to make learning conditions much better for students all over the area. He said he would build 15 big school projects worth GHS107 million. These would include new dining halls, boys’ and girls’ dorms, and more space for all five Senior High Schools in North Tongu. For example, the Volo E-Block would become a full boarding school. He said that new basic schools will be built in every traditional area, starting with Mepe, where schools were destroyed by the Akosombo Dam spillage. Ablakwa made it clear that the goal of the project is to give young people real chances for the future, not just build buildings. He thanked President John Mahama, the Education Ministry, GETFund, regional authorities, and traditional leaders for their help. He promised to keep his promises to the people and said that construction would start as soon as all the competitive bidding processes were finished.
