Afenyo-Markin: Don’t Fear Arrests (NPP Must Stay United Against Intimidation!)
Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader and a senior member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has told party members not to be afraid of what he called possible political harassment and arrests under a government led by the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He spoke at a thanksgiving service held after Mahamudu Bawumia was elected as the NPP’s flagbearer. He warned that opponents might try to split the party by using intimidation tactics like arrests, especially when they are under pressure. He told party members to stay strong and united, saying that being arrested as a politician should not be seen as a shame. He also asked supporters to stay loyal to Dr. Bawumia’s leadership as the party works to win power in 2028.
