No service, no job, NSA warns employers: hiring without a valid service certificate is breaking the law.

The National Service Authority (NSA) has said again that all graduates in Ghana must do national service. They also stressed that finishing it is a legal requirement for getting a job. Moses Dok Nach Kpeungu, the Deputy Director-General, said that graduates must do national service unless they are exempt, and employers must check that service certificates are valid before hiring. He said that a lack of knowledge among both job seekers and employers has led to non-compliance and warned that hiring people without national service is against the law. The Authority plans to start a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about the requirement and warned that employers who don’t follow it could face penalties.
